Stillyano are
writing and recording
After recording
the majority of the music for the new album, we
thought we'd get even
better results by recording the entire album in a proper studio.
However, it became obvious this wasn't the ideal
scenario - trying to get that perfect take after a full day at work -
not easy!
So, we've
gone back to our old way of recording
(apart from the drums which will still be recorded in the studio).
We will be mixing the tracks in the studio this time though.
We've been
gigging continually for nearly five years and it's time for a break. We
haven't spent enough time working on the new songs we have written to
get them to a standard where we're happy to perform them. And we miss
that.
So, we'll be
spending as much time as we can finishing the new CD
(both acoustic and electric), working on new material
and hope to back performing later in the year.
Chances are,
we'll still pop up from time to time so you may catch us out and about.
We'd like to
wish everyone who has supported us a very happy 2009.

UK Songwriting
Competition 2008
This year we entered two of our self-penned tunes in the competition.
Again, we made the semi-finals with
Adriane
and
Automatic.
Still,
it could be worse. Though we'd prefer
to be winners.
To listen to the winning song in each genre,

The Longbrook - Battle of
The Bands
Sunday 24th
August 2008
THIS TIME.....WE DID IT!
We are pleased to announce that Stillyano
were the winners of the
Battle of The Bands 2008.
Competing alongside The Sexy Fenders, Klunge and Cover'd, the
four Stillyano boys were voted by the judging panel
to be the band of the night. (Year??)
Seriously, it was a great night and all four bands did an
excellent job
of entertaining a full-on crowd. The Longy was packed!
As ever, we'd like to
thank everyone who came to support us.
We hope you had a great night too!

Riff's Bar, Swindon -
Saturday 16th August 2008
We made it to the finals. We didn't win on the night.
We thought we should have done, naturally! ;-)
Congratulations to the winners and well done to all
four acts
who put on a great night of music.
We'd like to say a huge
thank you to our fans and supporters
who came to Riffs Bar that night.
And also to those people who'd not seen us before for their kind words
of support and encouragement. Cheers everyone! You made the night for
us.

I am certain that Stillyano will be signed up
with a major record company very soon,
they are that good. It is so refreshing to see
a collection of band members performing their own self-written stuff and
having the crowd singing along to songs they have heard for the first
time. Stillyano had this place bumping. Full of stage presence, The
Showman seemed an aptly named venue for them...

"IT'S
ALL SO CHRISTMAS"
Released on the 10th December 2007,
our Christmas song with Matt & Charlie from Gemini FM made the top of the
indiestore chart for several days, having been at number 2 for the first two
weeks of it's release..
In the first five days alone, there
were over 6000 downloads of the video from the Gemini FM website.
Several hundred copies were sold.
A huge thank you goes out to all of you tried (and succeeded) to download a
copy from indiestore. Apologies to all of you who were unable to
successfully download the song.
The video has been viewed over 800
times on YouTube - more Stillyano videos coming up!

PARTY IN THE PARK
2007
STILLYANO OPENED THE SHOW!
As many of you will know, Gemini
FM in Exeter held a competition to win the chance to be the opening act
at this years "Party In The Park" festival in Heavitree, near Exeter.
"Dandelion Blue" had been playing on Matt & Charlie's morning show and
Stillyano were up against four other acts that had also been
short-listed.
Stillyano won the competition and had a fantastic time opening the show
this year. The sun was out and the atmosphere was brilliant.
